It’s been an interesting week, in the lead up to the Surf Coast Shire workshop to discuss the clothing optional status of Point Impossible. Cr Ron has been strangely quiet (well, he hasn’t caught our attention!), but one supporter of his attracted the ire of regular Cr Humphrey commentator BrokenLeftLeg!!

If you’re interested in an entertaining read, BLL’s take on Cliff Winkler is not generous. Apparently Cliff is well known in Letters to the Editor in the local rags, with a small number of repeating themes. So when Cliff became the target of another letter writer, Cr Ron leapt to his aide.

BLL makes a few quite blunt points about Cliff and Ron, concluding with “… the $12K the shire pays this bloke [Ron] is the greatest waste of taxpayer’s money since the Abrahms tanks debacle”. Not subtle!! Everything we’ve ever read indicates Cr Ron is not that popular with the masses, but it looks like even his supporters find it hard to make friends!!

It appears as though the long-running fight over the status of Little Congwong beach in NSW (through Botany Bay Park) continues in earnest, with the creation of a local action group called the Free Beach Action Group. In a quote directly from the Southern Courier article (Click here to read more):

The group’s convener, Gerald Ganglbauer, said naturists were being punished by the behaviour of perverts who were not part of the naturist community.

“I’m sick and tired of talking about weirdos, perverts, sexual predators and the old mud throwing,� he said. “These people need help, they have to be reported and this has nothing to do with naturism.�

We agree completely Gerald, and the Victorian nudist community (and this site) supports you in your fight to have the beach officially declared legal!!

Well, 2007 is here and we at FBANAVic.org are looking forward to another great summer down on the beaches!! But don’t forget that we’re not just here for the beaches (although that is our bias at the moment with all the excitement the councils are giving us!!). Members of the Victorian nudist community are more than welcome to get in touch with us about anything related to our community and lifestyle!!

Got an issue you want to raise? Got some ideas you’d like to suggest? Want to simply say hi and let us know you’re out there? Excellent, drop us a line here using the details on the contacts page, or simply register on the site and post a comment or two!! There’s plenty of ways to take part, and we’d all like to know there are others out there just like us!! And don’t think we don’t know you’re out there - we’ve got the stats on the site hits, and there’s no way only a few people are generating that much traffic!!

Expect to see new and great things happening with the site this year - the plans are always grandiose at the start of the year, but we’re setting ourselves some reasonable targets and we’re planning to reach them!! Just got to get ourselves over this (slightly distracting) council revocation issue and then we can get on with providing the community lots of information and services.

It’s gonna be a great year!!
