Posso now a bit cleaner!!

TOP

A big thanks goes out to everyone who helped us with our Pt Impossible Clean Up Australia Day efforts – about 10 garbage bags worth of rubbish was collected. There was very little by way of rubbish on the beach (good work nudists!!), with most of junk being found in and around the foredune area.

The vast majority of rubbish collected was glass bottles and aluminium cans, and one slightly burnt deck chair. Contrary to what supporters of closing the beach would have you think, the rubbish indicated more of a drinking problem than a sexual activity problem in the dunes – evidence of “orgies” as touted by Cr Humphrey was conspicuous in its absence (as was Cr Humphrey).

We’ve been informed that an article may appear in The Age this week, possibly as early as tomorrow. If an article is sighted, we’ll drop a link here. Thanks to Daniella for taking the time to come and talk to us – look out for a pic of some bums on the beach!!

Update: An article was published in the Age, Pg 8 for the 5/3/07 printed edition and here on this link for the online readers:

Thanks to all for turning out and showing that nudists are at the forferont of ensuring that Pt Impossible remains a great (and clean) beach!

    Cheers,

I am new around this site… but not quite so new to natursim. Would appreciate being made aware of when/whether the next clean up Australia will see a clean up at Pt Impossible. Would love to join in.
