Skin Deep - The Age on River Valley

TOP

We all heard a long time ago that River Valley Nudist Holiday Resort was looking for a buyer, preferably a nudist who would continue running the venue (near Echuca) as a clothing-free holiday destination.

Well, a buyer was not found, and at the start of July the conversion to clothed caravan park was official. The Age ran a great story yesterday (23/10) which you can check out on the link below:

Skin Deep in The Age

It’s sad when the community loses a venue, there aren’t that many to begin with. But to lose a very popular one will be felt this summer most, particularly by all those people who will probably be seeking xmas/new years accommodation elsewhere.

It’s a reminder that the nudist community does need to support retaining our valuable resources, and venues, and beaches - everyone needs to put in the effort, stand up and be counted!! Don’t expect others to do it for you…

For me, not that I wish the owners any malice, but I hope the change to being textile resort is a failure! I can’t see how it can be anything but really. Who else but nudists would put up with travelling all that way our along that rotten road to get to a caravan park, as nice as it may be.
I hope that people stay away in their drove especially nudists and that the resort has to revert to being nudist again just to get back some semblance of fair return on investment… and that then we all support it even more than before.

I agree. The River Valley saga is oh-so unbelievable. For a family so well known as naturists themselves, it beggars belief that in the proverbial blink of an eye they can change from naturist to textile and seemingly shun the naturist community!

I defiintely won’t be going within cooee of River Valley. I, like many others, feel betrayed by their actions. Best of luck to them in their new endeavour, but I can’t help but feel it will fail. It’s a hell of a long way for textiles to go for “nothing much in particular”: naturists saw it differently with the pool and lawns a nirvana.
